LIBRARY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED - PTO continues to seek volunteers for the Children's Library. We are looking for Children's Greek Books, children's religious book donations and volunteers to help organize and manage the library. Volunteer hours would be during Greek School and Sunday School hours. Please contact Antonia Kapolas.

Festival photos needed: We are compiling photos of past festivals for a proposed video for our church website to promote our Greek Festival June 4,5,6,7, 2015. We are asking parishioners who have taken photos or videos to share any that they have which may be appropriate for this project. Please e-mail: elaine@stgeorgecathedral.org or bring/mail to the church office as soon as possible. Thank you from the festival committee.

Please support Orthodox Missions by making a donation to our youth projects: Religious Ed and GOYA by taking a coin box home for any change which will be collected for OCMC, Orthodox Missions which bring our Orthodox faith to many unchurched in the US and the World.

JOY AND HOPE have taken the Challenge of IOCC (International Orthodox Christian Charities) spearheading a drive for school kits for impoverished young people in the US and throughout the World. 1 school bag with school supplies $15.

THE GREEK DISH Philoptochos cookbook with many special family recipes on sale. A wonderful gift idea for showers, weddings, birthdays, housewarming and also great holiday gifts for teachers, family and friends.


  1. We have an urgent need for volunteers from area towns who would be willing to pick up seniors, students or others who do not have transportation to Liturgies and other occasions and events at church. We have had many calls over the years and would appreciate your help with accommodating these faithful. Please call the church office if you would be willing to assist. There is a current need for ride from Trinity College and also from Farmington to church.
  2. HOME HEALTH AIDS are being collected for those in need: walkers, wheelchairs, canes, etc., in any condition. For information, please call Maria Troullas and drop off at the church office please.
  3. FOOD BARREL donations of non-perishables are needed year round.

GREEK COSTUMES thank you to those who have donated costumes. We are still in need of more Greek Costumes for our Cathedral Folk Dance Troupe. If you have a costume you would like to donate, please contact the church office, Penny Makris or Rita Papageorge.

HOUSE BLESSING: If you wish to have your home blessed this month, please call the church office (860-956-7586) to make an appointment.

HOSPITAL VISITS: If you or a loved one is in a hospital, nursing home, or homebound, please contact the office if you wish a visit from Father. Hospitals no longer provide patient lists unless a family member requests a pastoral visit, arrangements cannot be made.

Come be active in the life of our church and community! Join us for a year filled with activities for all. We encourage the parents of young children to consider enrolling their youngsters in Religious Education classes, Greek Language School, our church dance troupes, the basketball teams, and we have tentative plans for a Jr. Choir. For young mothers and their little ones LITTLE ANGELS (ages birth to preschool) , HOPE (kindergarten thru 2nd/3rd), JOY (3rd thru 6th grade), GOYA (Jr. High and High School) and for young singles and marrieds "20's, 30's, 40's, 50's" look for more information on these ministries and activities on our church website and in future bulletins (or call the church office 860-956-7586). For adults bible study, lecture series, Ladies Philoptochos Society, Cathedral Choir, "20's, 30's 40's 50's" (a Social organization for singles and couples), Daughters of Penelope and the Order of Ahepa.
