May 30, May 31, June 1 and June 2 We will once again celebrate our Greek Heritage and Hospitality with you in 2013. MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR OUR ANNUAL GREEK FESTIVAL! Large parking area behind the church and also "on street" parking available. Festival food areas and band/dancing under tent in front of church, tables and chairs outside under tent and inside main social hall. Greek pastry booth in main hall serving many favorite home baked Greek pastries. Back patio Ouzarie with Taverna menu and a 3 pc. band on back patio. The St. George Cathedral Oratorical Festival competition will take place on Friday, March 29 after the Salutations services. If you are interested, please review the topics and tips links below. The Festival is open to students, grades 7 to 9 for the Junior Division and grades 10 to 12 for the Senior Division. Prizes will be awarded to first place winners. MYRRHBEARERS: all young girls of the community between the ages of 7 and 12 years of age (2nd-6th grade) are invited to participate as Myrrhbearers Holy Friday evening. For information or to sign up, please call Alexa Melonopoulos Fleury.
DISTRICT ORATORICAL: Congratulations: Christopher Augustinos who was awarded 1st Place and to Anastasia Perry 2nd place in the Senior Division of the District Oratorical held in Stamford last Sunday. Both Christopher and Anastasia will go on to compete in the Archdiocesan Oratorical on May 18th at St. Nicholas, Flushing, NY.

AGIASMOS Orthodox Christians believe the Blessed Water of Theophany heals and sanctifies, and represents Christ's Baptism in the Jordan River. If you wish to bring these blessings into your home and to your family, please call the church office to make an appointment for Agiasmos 860-956-7586.

GREEK COSTUMES thank you to those who have donated costumes. We are still in need of more Greek Costumes for our Cathedral Folk Dance Troupe. If you have a costume you would like to donate, please contact the church office, Penny Makris or Rita Papageorge.

HOUSE BLESSING: If you wish to have your home blessed this month, please call the church office (860-956-7586) to make an appointment.
HOSPITAL VISITS: If you have a relative in the hospital and would like a clergy visit and communion, a family member must call the church office. With the new privacy laws, we rely on families to make a request, as we have no other way of being informed/knowing.
Come be active in the life of our church and community! Join us for a year filled with activities for all. We encourage the parents of young children to consider enrolling their youngsters in Religious Education classes, Greek Language School, our church dance troupes, the basketball teams, and we have tentative plans for a Jr. Choir. For young mothers and their little ones LITTLE ANGELS (ages birth to preschool) , HOPE (kindergarten thru 2nd/3rd), JOY (3rd thru 6th grade), GOYA (Jr. High and High School) and for young singles and marrieds "20's, 30's, 40's, 50's" look for more information on these ministries and activities on our church website and in future bulletins (or call the church office 860-956-7586). For adults bible study, lecture series, Ladies Philoptochos Society, Cathedral Choir, "20's, 30's 40's 50's" (a Social organization for singles and couples), Daughters of Penelope and the Order of Ahepa.
